So there's this really fucked up HBO special on right now about Mississippi and their proms.

Did you know that in some places the fucking proms are segregated? As in schools have a white prom and a black prom?

(No 4srs, it's not even funny.)

Even if you hate Michael Moore, everyone should watch this.

Witnessing the behavior and ickyness of Phelps and his merry band of losers made me a little ill, but mostly this video made me laugh and celebrate the awesomeness that people are capable of in the face of adversity. (It makes me sick that WBC are going to be protesting at the AI concert, though. I'M SENDING LOTS OF LOVE AND POSITIVE ENERGY YOUR WAY ADAM BB!!!!!)

See, the reason I usually don't try to get involved with "real person" fandoms is that the other people in them are (for the most part, you understand) scary fucking insane.

Take Adam Lambert's for example. Though I love the boy with the burning of a thousand suns I cannot stand most of his other fans, especially the fans on the comms and forums and such. I appreciate that the fandom exists and all but the people who are a part of these comms and forums are (again, for the most part) vicious cunts who apparently just can't tolerate anyone having an opinion other than theirs. I've been attacked at least thrice in these place for having a different good opinion, and god-forbid I ever express anything other than total devotion. (I fucking hated "Play that Funky Music." There, I said it.)

So what the fuck ever. I'm not going to let the insanity of Adam's fandom ruin him for me, so I'm not going to participate anymore. They can have their silly internet places where no one ever disagrees and everyone thinks exactly the same. Fuck them. I don't need them to keep track of Adam. I'll stick with my fandoms based on fictional characters where the people haven't been taken by the bad-brand of madness (for the most part).

I am, right now, rubbing my temples, trying to figure out how anyone in the world can be this stupid. Seriously, I wonder if he has a brain at all. D'you think if I broke his head, anything would fall out?

But it's okay. I am, surprisingly, being very Zen about this matter. Schizophrenia is actually a very sad disease, and I will hope for his eventual recovery and/or his laying off the crack. Until then, thoughts be with you, Mike.

Hokay, so first thing: I hate this site. Blog. Whatever.

They're funny--I will freely admit that. But they. Are. Bitches. And I mean that in the worst way possible. At first I was amused; then I was bewildered; finally I reached disgusted and backed away slowly. In fact, I just cut out the "Back" button all together and closed the tab.

Perusing sites like this never seems to work out well for me. I always get pissed, or spoiled, or something.

In this case, it was the first. I got soooo pissed at the way they dissed Bradford Anderson, or rather Spinelli, from General Hospital. So he's not traditional soap stud sexy. So friggin what? He's funny and charming and adorable, and I'd rather have a minute's worth of clothed screen time from him than an hour's worth of nekkidness from any beefy hunk. I am so not even joking, either. And I really, really resent that, based on this unforgivably superficial reason,(together with the way he talks) the two women have decided that Spinelli is not good enough for Maxie Jones, who is a slut and a conniver and a manipulater and totally doesn't deserve to lick sweet, kind Spinelli's sneakers, dammit!!!!! Also, have these two girls actually seen his body, like, at all? They must have missed that episode while they were bitching about everything under the cosmos. And no, he doesn't have rock solid abs or bulging pectorals, but he's fairly slender with some nicely defined shoulders, if I do say so myself. I present to you Exhibit A:

This kid is fucking gorgeous. Why, he sets my slash senses a'tingling, he's so cute.

I've loved Spinelli from the first moment I saw him on screen, which was, regrettably, rather a long time after he first appeared. It was serendipity that this first witnessed scene occurred with Diane Miller, (because the two play so well off of one another) and I was instantly smitten. Sure, I thought he was a bit goofy looking at first, but only at first, and by now I'd be hardpressed to think of another soap star who I find as lovely as him. His personality, his boyish looks, and this undefinable something about him just makes me sigh (and want to write fic really really urgently).

So, I can be grateful that I'm not one of those girls who's more concerned with what the characters are wearing than with what their character is as a person. I can feel relief that I'm not fretting over some distant past, and moaning and groaning because the older actors are disappearing. I can understand and appreciate the need for fresh faces, while also understanding and appreciating that the pattern of soap plots will never and probably should never change (Except that I urge ALL soaps to take a page from ATWT's book and bring in SUM, some gays. And give them love interests and great romances. Many many chicks love that kind of shit AND I AM VEHEMENTLY ONE OF THEM.)

I could be or feel or do any of those things. Instead I will say

and take much satisfaction in my own unique brand of bitchiness.

*blows several gaskets*

Why are people so dumb? And republican? I think they might go hand in hand. Teresa, I apologize for laughing for even a second when Julian accused you of republicanness. Such a thing is nothing to joke about!

ETA: On second thought, I hate this WHOLE FUCKING SITE! It's all completely ridiculous. I think these people need to get off their fucking moral high horses and deal with some real issues. Jackasses.

next time I come across a thumbnail like this someone please remind me to ignore it. I'll avoid much grief if you would kthx, because subconsciously I know nothing I say will make a bit of difference to these assholes. But that never seems to matter when I'm in the throes of my own, admittedly volatile, temper.

I have been woefully distant from LJ as of late. I'm not proud of it but it's a fact. I simply had found other things to pique my interest (damn you Dofus!)

So, I come back and start seeing...things. Fishy things. Things that puzzled and confused me. Like entries from a few weeks back in virtually every fan-munity of mods assuring their members that their community was safe and whatnot. Well, why wouldn't it be? What the hell was going on?
